Arts & Entertainment

From shopping and dining to the arts and annual festivals, Levelland has plenty of attractions for residents. Spend the afternoon browsing downtown shops and grab a latte, catch a show at the local theater, take a mosaic tour, or grab a tasty meal and a glass of local wine at one of our local restaurants and wineries.

Downtown Levelland

As the county seat of Hockley County, Levelland is home to the county courthouse and Main Street Square, which features shopping at boutiques, antiques, and specialty retailers, local business services, and the popular coffee shop and eatery, Mosaic Sandwich & Coffee Company. There are also a number of restaurants and diners near the downtown area, with options including American, Mexican, and Thai.

Downtown Levelland is also home to The Wallace Theater, which was built in 1928 as a state-of-the-art movie theater and now serves as a premier arts, culture, and education center. The Wallace continues to undergo historical renovations and hosts concerts, films, theatrical performances, camps, workshops, and classes.

Marjorie Merriweather Post Art Collection (South Plains College)

The Marjorie Merriweather Post Art Collection, located at South Plains College, consists of eight 18th-century to 20th-century oil paintings and one 18th-century pastel drawing on paper, which were gifted by Mrs. Post. The collection gives students and residents access to a cross-section of classical art styles.

City of Mosaics

Levelland is proud to be known as the “City of Mosaics.” The city has a total of ten outdoor mosaics on display, the first created in 1968 by art professors at South Plains College on the exterior of the college’s Fine Arts Building.
